24 Hour News Station …News is breaking of an ‘incident’ on a Quadrant XVI planet, currently a number of Symons from Company 84 are engaging a ‘shoal’ of Lyrium forces in an ‘unauthorised engagement’. The Lyrium Government have already sent a GMPM (Galaxial Message Priority Mail) to Gaea Prime Government House outlying their concern over the action and promising a series of ‘consequences’ should the situation escalate. The last consequence that the Gaea Prime Council members faced was one of their Planetary Council members appearing on the Lyrium Councils dinner table. We here at Tenchi News have been given access to Gaea Prime Secret Service leaked information which suggests this is not the first time that Symons have been involved in such ‘unauthorised engagements’ – in fact it appears to have happened at least 15 times in the past 5 years. Other information gleaned from an ex GPSS scientist indicates that at times of high usage the Symon unit can malfunction. It appears that the Symon may at these time latch on (in synthetic science circles this is called to ‘anchor’) to an idea that it has either seen or heard … this idea then becomes their primary motivation factor which overrides any other programming.
Early reports just coming in indicate the Symons in question (from 2nd platoon, 84 Company) overheard some human crew members commenting on the joys of Sushi. This got ‘anchored’ into the psyche of the Symons who have been visiting as many sushi restaurants as they can. They then went looking for the ‘real thing’ which led them onto looking for Lyriums, as in the words over one com system was reported to say, “You can’t get much fresher than this.” So viewers this is how we reached the situation that is playing itself out on Planet AE 236F. The Symons have a small exploration ‘shoal’ of Lyrium cornered. We have breaking news that the Planetary Defence Force have sent in a squad of troopers to bring down the rogue Symons, unsubstantiated reports say there is also team of ISS on standby to assist if needs be … wait sorry Larry what’s that … eerrr, well viewers we have just learnt from our man on the ground out there that there appears to be a third band entering the fray, from what our man is hearing it is a group from the infamous Z-boys Free Company who have been employed to bring the Symons in to their ‘employee’.
