The Battle for Caselton
This campaign will run for a 4 week period through March + we will also be doing a large battle day to round off the campaign on the first Saturday in April (the 5th). The first 4 weeks at the club will consist of 2 games a night, of around 300 points per side with the Saturday battles being much larger (900-1000 points per side).
Campaign Overview:
After attacking a Highlander fleet heading to Tikonov, Star Wolf Captain Rowan Fen has retreated to his base on the planet Caselton, closely pursued by Highlander Captain Lita McGregor.
McGregor’s mandate is to bring Fen to justice by any means necessary, and Fen isn’t going to give up without a fight. Click here to read more.
Faction Alignment:
At the beginning of the campaign players must decide who they will be fighting for, either Steel Wolves or Highlanders, THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU HAVE TO USE THESE FACTIONS IN THE CAMPAIGN; it just means that that is the side you have chosen to fight alongside.
Players may play any faction, or mix of factions that they desire, (so it is possible for a Steel Wolf player to be fighting for the Highlanders if they so desire and visa versa).
Special Rules:
All the standard rules for MechWarrior apply as per the latest FAQ provided by Wizkids (a copy of which will be supplied to all players at the beginning of the campaign).
Certain scenarios will contain their own special rules that supersede the rulebook for the duration of that scenario only.
Results:
At the end of each week I’ll be collecting up all the results and at the end of the 4 weeks of the regular club night a winner will be announced and a small prize will be given.
The Saturday Battle Day will be the finale of the campaign and generally an excuse to fight really huge battles and have a bit of a laugh, it’ll also be used as a decider if there is a tie after 4 weeks (and both players can attend of course).
Battleday Extras:
Each of the 4 weeks the overall result of all the battles fought will combined to figure out which side has won that week’s Battleday bonus.
These bonuses will be available in the Saturday Battleday to the player of the side that won them each week. The Bonuses are:
Week 1: Off-table artillery/aerospace attacks for the duration of the battle (rules provided on the day).
Week 2: Either 1 free ‘Mech (of no more than 100-points), or 2 free vehicles (combined total of no more than 100-points).
Week 3: 3 free infantry stands.
Week 4: +1 to the dice roll to determine who goes first.
