Summer Tournament 2005

Introduction
The sun is shining and there’s not a cloud in the sky. Perfect Blood Bowl weather!

The PEWC Summer Blood Bowl 2005 competition took place over the last four weeks of August. The competition used the latest "living rulebook" Blood Bowl rules from Games Workshop’s Blood Bowl website.
The first three weeks were open competition. Coaches could play as many games as they liked and who they liked (as long as they did not play the same opponent twice in a row). In the final week, the tournament progressed into a Swiss system with the two top coaches facing off against each other to be crowned PEWC Blood Bowl Champion 2005!

There were also extra prizes on offer for completing certain tasks each week.

Week 1
For the first week it was goal-fest. The crowd was eager to see lots of touchdowns at the start of the season and got behind any team who regularly gave their opponents a good thrashing. Any team scoring an average of two or more touchdowns per game received +1 fan factor and 20,000 gold pieces.

Winners: Aaron, Andrew C and Ed.

Andrew B managed to concede the most touchdowns per game and received the wooden spoon prize. A retired Blood Bowl coach took pity on his team after seeing them humiliated. He secretly coached one of their players in the finer arts of scoring touchdowns. One player chosen at random gained a passing skill!

Week 2
Week 2’s special task was smack-down! The crowd soon grew bored of all the fancy plays and scoring. They next demanded blood! Any team that scored an average of 2 causalities per game received +1 fan factor and 20,000 gold pieces.

Winners : Andrew C and Rob.

Aaron managed to concede the most casualties per game (2.5 - thanks Rob!) and so Aaron received the wooden spoon prize. A retired Blood Bowl coach took pity on his puny team after seeing them decimated. He secretly coached one of his players in the finer arts of kicking the living daylights out of their opponents. One player chosen at random gained a strength skill!

Week 3
Week 3’s special task was put the boot in! The crowd loves a dirty player and wanted to see more fouls than ever. Team that caused an average of one causality per game through fouling received a bonus of +1 fan factor and 20,000 gold pieces.

Winners: No-one!

Rob managed to get the most number of his own players sent off and won the wooden spoon for the week. A retired Blood Bowl coach took pity on his team of blatant foulers after seeing half the team sent off in one match. He secretly coached one of the players in the finer arts of fouling whilst the ref is not looking. One player chosen at random gained the dirty player skill!
