Warhammer 40k League April onwards

Posted on 18 February 2007, by angrychef

As of April, I will be running a 40k league for anyone who is interested - 1800 points forces, normal restrictions apply.

Points for scoring are as follows - 5 points for massacre, 4 points for major victory, 3 points for minor victory, 1 point for draw and no points for losing. Victory points for and against are also used in the event of league tie.

You will have a home battle (defender) and an away battle (attacker) for each opponent. Army lists can be changed between battles and the league will run until all players have played each other twice. I may even add a knock-out tournament as well depending on the interest. Please post up ASAP on the form with your army please, so I can get the league table under way.

The league has now started and results are as follows: league.xls

WWII campaign

Posted on 20 December 2006, by Rich J

WWII campaign 2007

On the Warmachine/Hordes weeks we will be also playing a Late War Europe campaign in 10 and 15mm using Metal Storm WWII and Flames of War. Players will command a Company and 'take it on' through the stages til the end of the war in Europe. Results will link into the following scenario and all logistics, like reinforcements and replacements will be done by the umpire. We will be using FOW army lists from Festung Europa and DDay minus 1. We also have armies to lend out.

The campaign will run fortnightly and the off week will see multi player skirmish level games played at squad to platoon level using NUTS. This will be run in 28-36mm - again we have squads to lend out.

Anyone intersted should mail Rich J or join the PEWC forum.

Gateway to the Eastern Wastes

A Warhammer Fanatasy campaign

January - March 2007

Once again a dire threat exists to the Warhammer World and all the races are brought into conflict across a multitude of battlefields.

Following Archaon’s defeat during the "Storms of Chaos" a sizeable portion of his surviving forces fled into the east. Chased by contingents from all races the pursuit has stalled upon a momentus discovery. The discovery of a third chaos gate.

Significantly smaller than it’s ancient cousins the gate is located several days march east of the World’s Edge mountains. Built by Archaon’s sorcerors for whatever reasons the pursuit forces have halted at it’s location.

Debate has been heated as to what action should be taken. Old rivalries have come to the fore and skirmishes have already taken place. Open warfare cannot be forestalled for long. To take control of the gate and is to decide its ultimate fate.

Only the limitation of small individual forces at the end of a long supply line has limited the conflict so far. As reinforcements race east, commanders manoeuvre for control of key locations as treaties of convenience are establish and broken on a daily basis.

Format:

The campaign will take place over the course of six fortnightly meetings.

For the first two meetings will feature 500 point border patrol forces with at least three rounds of games.

Meetings three and four will be one on one 2000 point games.

Meetings five and six will be multi-player at upto 2000 points per player.

Factions will be split by race, with victory points scored each game contributing towards a rolling total.

A faction’s victory points can be contributed towards either “Good”, destroy the gate, or “Evil”, maintain the gate.

At the end of each meeting each faction commander decides which way to allocate their faction’s victory points. Whoever scored the most victory points within their faction each meeting becomes the faction commander.

Faction scorings will decide the make-up of the multi-player scenarios for the final two meetings.

Campaign Dates

The campaign will be run over the following six weeks: Tues 9th January, Tues 23rd January, Tues 6th February, Tues 20th February, Tues 6th March & Tues 20th March.

The Maiming of the Few

A Warmachine/Hordes Shakspeareanesque Tragedy!!

January - March 2007

At the start of the new year instead of the regular close down of offensive actions , the mightiest of warriors in the iron kingdoms ramp up the hostilities in the hope of gaining a solid foothold in an as yet mainly unchartered wilderness. This recently discovered area has been found to be rich in valuable minerals and ores that would further the wealth of anyone that could control it.

The campaign will be map based with random starting areas for all factions, bonuses and hinderances will become apparent as the weeks progress, so sign up and make like you have a pair!

Format

All players are to select 2000 points of forces to start, they are to be broken down into 3 * 500 point battle groups led by a different warcaster and 500 points of reserves, there are no restrictions on the reserves ie faction limits or numbers , if you want to add 2 winter guard to reserves you can , you will only be able to use them to replace losses in a group of winter guard in a battle group they cannot be stand alone.

Each faction will be allocated resource  points each week after battles with which to replace losses points cost to replace will be double vps for warjacks and warcasters ie a warcaster will cost 10 resource points to replace , troopers cost 1 resource point per troop but 2 for a leader model. map based bonuses will also be available for controlling certain areas.

Damaged warjacks can be repaired by spending resource points on the repair table, each resource point gets a roll on the repair table to see how many points you can repair on your jack.

Each games victory points can also be exchanged for resource points at  a rate of 5 victory points to a single resource point, victory points not spent will be added to the final total at the end of the campaign to determine the overall winner, a reckless general may win the battle but not the war!

"Look to the forums!"

Weekly updates will be posted to the club forums so please check regularly.

Campaign Dates

The campaign will be run over the following six weeks: Tues 16th January, Tues 30th January, Tues 13th February, Tues 27th February, Tues 13th March & Tues 27th March.
