Urban War

Urban War is a fast paced sci-fi skirmish game set in a brutal far-distant universe. Players build small teams of soldiers to fight in the war-torn city planet of Iskandria, the scene of countless vicious conflicts between competing factions, now also threatened by aggressive alien incursions.

On Iskandria there are seven distinct factions vying for dominance:

junker_icon.jpg    Junkers - grim convict legions

gladiator_icon.jpg   Gladiators - warriors of the arenas

triad_icon.jpg      Triads - clan warriors, contemptuous of outsiders

vasa_icon.jpg     VASA - galactic enforcers of law and order

viridian_icon.jpg Viridians - traders relying on pure firepower

syntha_icon.jpg       Syntha - human cyborgs and robotic androsynths

koralon_icon.jpg      Koralon - alien symbiotes, wielders of unearthly powers

Urban War is Urban Mammoth's reinterpretation of their Void 1.1 universe.  The rules were origionally printed in 5 bi-monthly magazines that introduced the rules in easy to learn chunks.  With all 5 issues now free to download from Urban Mammoth's website, (along with a large number of player aids), the game is easy to get into.

With the upcoming release of the Urban War Compendium & the future release of Urban War: Metropolis (UM's answer to Warhammer 40,000) it looks like peace on Iskandria is unlikely to come along any time soon.
