PEWC goes to Games Day 2003

It's that time of year again and our club has decided to try something new this year at Games Day UK. We are going to try out a chariot style participation racing game, called 'Ben-Hurt' (think Ben-Hur and Orcs). It will consist of 4 Orc chariots racing round an oval shaped track, getting into all sorts of chaos along the way.

This page will show the stages the track and models went through before their completion, as well a copy of the rules. Just click on an image to view a larger version of it.

The stages our track went through before it was finished.

The above 4 images are early shots of the track. At this stage of its development we began play testing the rules, making adjustments where necessary in order to make the game as easy to play as possible, whilst at the same time keeping it interesting and fun.

After the track was attacked with a large quantity of static grass, it is almost finished.

After a few finishing touches were added, the track itself is finished.

Although the track looked good, it needed something more, so we added some trackside vignettes to make it more eye catching.

What would a chariot race track be without chariots? Well, we didn't want to find out, so we made 4 different colour chariots to race around the track, battling it out to be the winner.

The Rules and Player Sheet:

Rules Sheet - This contains all the basic rules of the game that you need in order to play the game.
Marker Sheet - This allows you to keep track of all the chariots current number of wounds and whips, whilst racing.
Card Sheet - This sheet contains the turn cards, special cards and their relative backings.

Many thanks go out to Shaun, Steve, Undead Jon and Aaron for making the new boards, vignettes and rules.
